Connect MacBook to TV

Apple has used 2 different kinds of video ports on the MacBook depending on the model.

Newer MacBooks have a Mini DisplayPort (now called Thunderbolt port). This includes brand new MacBooks. It is on the side of the MacBook and looks like this:

If you have a very new MacBook or have this port on the side of your MacBook, then the Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt kit is what you need to connect to your TV.



Older MacBooks have a Mini DVI port. It is also located on the side of the MacBook. It looks like this:

If you have this port on the side of your MacBook, then the Mini DVI kit is what you need to connect to your TV.
